Description

ECO 201-B01C is a thermoplastic compostable finished compound made from PBAT and PLA, specifically designed for use in blow film applications. It is an easy-processing grade of material for LDPE die head in any blown film machines.ECO 201-B01C is a PBAT and PLA compound material without filler powder, it is odor free and possesses good transparency with certain rigidness.

Processing Information

ECO 201-B01C can be processed on conventional blown film machine with a LDPE die head. It is recommended to use a general purpose screw with L/D ratios between 24 and 32. Pre-drying of the resin is recommended.

Packaging & Storage

ECO 201-B01C is available in 1000kg aluminum-lined octabins. It is recommended to store compostable material in its closed, original moisture-barrier packaging at temperatures below 50°C. Storage in direct sunlight should be avoided.

Compostability

Composting of organic waste helps to divert organic waste from landfill or incineration. Composting is a biological process in which organic wastes are degraded by microorganisms into carbon dioxide, water and humus, a soil nutrient. ECO 201 is in compliance with the EN-13432 standard. ECO 201 has been certified compostable by European Bioplastics (Seedling 7W0234) up to a thickness of 140 μm. As the compostability of the end product is also dependent on the geometry of product, it is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the end product to ensure compliance with the regulations.

Environmental Concerns

Generally speaking, lost pellets, while undesirable, are benign in terms of their physical environmental impact, but if ingested by wildlife, they may mechanically cause adverse effects.

Spills should be minimized, and they should be cleaned up when they happen. Plastics should not be discarded into the environment.
